Personal Outcomes Evaluation Tool (POET)

We would like to make you aware that the Personal Outcomes Evaluation Tool (POET) will be open again in Rotherham from 8th February 2021 until 3rd April 2021. POET is an anonymous questionnaire asking for feedback from young people; parents/carers and practitioners regarding additional SEN support and Education, Health & Care Plans.

What is POET?

POET is a tool which collects parent, children, young people and practitioner views of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) support, and the impact of this support. It takes just 10 minutes to complete and can be completed once a year. In Rotherham we are opening this survey during February to April 2021. We would appreciate feedback telling us how the last year has been for you and your child with special education needs. All the questionnaires are anonymous. None of the surveys use your personal details and these cannot be seen by the local authority.

Why should I complete POET?

It is important that in Rotherham we know how your experience of EHCP support and/or SEND support has been this year. The feedback you give will be used to develop and improve services, based on what matters to you. POET is your opportunity to provide your views on what is working and what isn’t working and play an important part in shaping the future experiences of families. Once the 2021 results have been analysed we will compare these results to the 2019 results and see if there has been an impact from the pandemic and use appropriate channels to share results.

Why Now?

We realise families are under increasing pressure with recent school closures and lockdown 3. Telling us about the support you or your child receives will help us plan our services and resources to better support you.
